Michael Hall’s martial arts journey began when he was introduced to the arts at a young age. He dedicated himself to the practice and went on to achieve a high level of proficiency. However, Mike’s curiosity and thirst for knowledge led him to explore the Filipino martial arts, including De Campo 123 Original.
Sir Mike’s journey in De Campo 123 Original began with Sir Aaron Davis of MKG Southampton – Martial Arts before he decided to sign up in May of 2021 for our online course. He was impressed by the art’s efficiency and decided to take his training further by receiving private online instruction from Maestro Paolo via Zoom. Sir Mike’s dedication to his training paid off, and after almost two years of consistent practice, he was ready to take his Instructor Exam for De Campo 123 Original.
Sir Mike’s background in Karate initially made it difficult for him to transition into the movements of De Campo. However, he was patient and receptive to Maestro Paolo’s feedback, which helped him sort out this issue. He welcomed criticisms of his movements, knowing that it would help him improve and become a better practitioner of De Campo.
On April 2, 2023, Sir Mike took his Instructor Exam for De Campo 123 Original and passed with flying colors. The exam was conducted online via Zoom, and a panel of instructors, including Maestro Paolo Pagaling and Master Jomalin Caballero (heir to the De Campo system), was present to test and assess him. The instructors before him gave their feedback, and there were also other practitioners of De Campo present to witness the exam.
After passing his Instructor Exam, Sir Mike is now a fully qualified Magtutudlo of De Campo 123 Original. His knowledge and skills are a testament to his hard work, dedication, and passion for the art. Sir Mike is now eager to share his knowledge and experience with others in Sheffield, UK, and is excited to teach De Campo 123 Original to his students.
