Isang Pasada - Tatlong Patama

In this video, you’ll see how a single swing can deliver up to three strikes. The goal is to get three clean hits, but depending on your timing, distance, and control, it can be one or two — preferably at least two solid strikes.

The secret lies in the flip of the weapon hand from hayang to kulob as the arm swings through the target. That small adjustment lets the weapon travel through multiple angles within a single motion, creating what looks like one swing but lands multiple hits — a true De Campo principle.

Looking really good Paolo.

Maraming arnisador ang mabilis pumalo, pero nakabaon ang paa sa lupa.

Footwork is survival.
Your strike starts from the ground up.
If your feet are dead, so are you.

I love the Quote! "Maraming arnisador ang mabilis pumalo, pero nakabaon ang paa sa lupa. Footwork is survival. Your strike starts from the ground up. If your feet are dead, so are you." Is this a "Maestro Paolo Pagaling" Quote or something from Jose Caballero?

GGM Braulio Pedoy of Derobio Escrima commented in the 80's. People these days are teaching eskrima from the waist up. He would tell us; footwork will win the fight. There is a time to move and there is a time to plant your feet and fight.

Nice work po

In De Campo, the stick is only half the story. The deeper you go, the clearer it becomes that almost every Filipino fighting system was born from the blade. By moving from stick to blade, you see the connection, how the mechanics, angles, and intent were always blade-driven.

When you understand the blade, you don’t just swing the stick… you know what the stick is meant to do.

How does Decampo blade compare to illustrisimo blade? As you study both systems I believe you are qualified to answer.

I like the stick. 👏

Nice! The last part is tighter and looks similar to Balintawak hitting.

When a long-time practitioner speaks, we listen.

Sir Ludwig van Ditten has trained in De Campo for years and studied privately with Maestro Paolo. In his words, the De Campo 1-2-3 Master Class doesn’t just give the original curriculum—it takes a deep dive into movement, adding the very drills that Maestro reserved for his private students.

“It truly deserves the name Master Class. The level of detail is exceptional. Suitable both for veterans and beginners, with the added bonus of weekly live Zoom sessions to guide you along the way.” – Sir Ludwig

If you’re serious about your FMA journey, this is the course to start with.

From basic steps to sideways mobility—Maestro Paolo shows how De Campo footwork creates angles, not just distance.

Footwork is the foundation of every strike. In this session, Maestro Paolo and Sir Louie Lindo worked through the essentials of De Campo footwork:

1. Weight shifting (front and back loaded)
2. Sliding forward and back
3. Skipping
4. Skipping with an extra retreating step
5. Stepping forward/backward with lead changes
6. Stepping forward/backward while skipping

Each drill is paired with simple diagonal strikes. That simplicity is intentional—because in De Campo, it’s not about how many moves you know, but how well your feet can carry you into the right range at the right time.

The lesson here: footwork is not just movement. It’s timing, distance control, and positioning—without it, even the sharpest strike falls flat. With it, even the most basic strike becomes decisive.

For those who want to study De Campo more deeply, the complete system is available through the De Campo 123 Master Class. Just visit our website.
